With the much anticipated return to the cloth market of Lollipop cloth nappies we thought we'd give some blog space to the really rather good Lollipop Pocket Pop n Gro.

When deciding on an all-in-one nappy, many of which are now birth to potty in style, fit is an important factor. Because not all babies are 'Joe average' and come in skinny, chunky, tall, short and other varieties a pocket nappy that is sized is a really good thing. Lollipop Pocket Pop n Gro nappies come in two sizes. Size 1 is for new born (7lb) up to 18lb in weight, Size 2 is for 18lb upwards.

Both sizes are poppered making them a size within a size nappy giving the ultimate fit around the legs, waist and in the rise, perfectly tailoring them to your child.

Bright unisex colours (Yellow, Blue and White) or a gorgeous big spot print mean there's a colour to suit all tastes. Velcro fastening means super fast changing times and wonderfully soft fleece lining makes for a very dry bottom!

We love these pocket nappies (can you tell?!) and would highly recommend them to parents consideringn an all in one nappy.

We give the Lollipop Pocket Pop n Gro the following scores:

Fit 5/5
Style 4/5
Ease of use 5/5
Reliability 5/5

Try one, you won't be disappointed!

I heard something yesterday that has made me think. When someone asks you what washable nappies you use do you say:

a) A brand? i.e. Bumgenius, Itti Bitti, Lollipop, Close Parent etc

or

b) A Style? i.e. All in one, 2-part (shaped), flat, prefold etc

Brands are an integral part of our lives should we like it or not. Advertising and brand awareness is big bucks (I should know I once was a graphic designer for some major brands) and big companies love nothing more than the free advertising we all partake in when we refer our brand choice to our friends. If so-and-so uses them on her baby they must be good, right?

I meet a lot of people through nappuccino's, events and such who say things like "I'd like to try washable nappies and I want some XYZ brand as my friend has them and I've seen them in a magazine"

Does that brand recognition necessarily mean they are the most appropriate nappy choice for you, your child or your circumstances? I wonder if we stepped away from the media push for big brands and tried to think of what our child needed rather than what everyone else had whether there would be more users of cloth nappies and more success stories of how good they are? Regardless of what style we opted for.

Just a thought...
